Call for Papers: VI Jean Monnet Prize in Social Sciences
The Globalization of EU Values and Democracy

The Jean Monnet Network BRIDGE Watch: Values and Democracy in the EU and Latin America, co-funded by Erasmus+, LACES and the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, invites young researchers (up to 35 years old) to apply for the VI Jean Monnet Prize in Social Sciences, under the theme “The Globalization of EU Values and Democracy”.

Requirements: original, unpublished papers, individual or co-authored (max. 3 authors), written in English, Spanish, or Portuguese, with a length between 60,000 and 80,000 characters. Authors must be currently enrolled or have been enrolled in a higher education institution within the last 18 months.

Deadline: June 1, 2026.

The winner will receive the VI Jean Monnet Prize and will be invited (travel and accommodation covered) to take part in the XII BRIDGE Seminar at the University of the Republic (Uruguay), on October 7, 2026, to present their work.

Awarded papers and those receiving honorable mention will be published in the Latin American Journal of European Studies (Vol. 6 No. 2, 2026).
