Prof. Dr. Miguel Moura e Silva

In 2009, he obtained his PhD in Law from the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon. He earned his graduate degree in law and a master’s degree in EC Law from the Portuguese Catholic University Law Faculty in 1990 and 1998 respectively. He also attended the College d’Europe, Bruges from 1990-91 and, was a Fulbright scholar, at the University of Michigan Law School (1994-95). He is a Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon, where he has been teaching since 1993 in the area of Economic and EC Law.  He is a member of the European Institute (IE) and a founding member of the Institute for Economic, Financial and Tax Law (IDEFF). He is also the Director of the Special Unit for Competition Assessment of Public Policies, where he served, between 2004 and 2013 as Director of the Department for Restrictive Practices. He is the Principal Researcher of the research group on Market Failures in a Globalized Economy: Institutional Approaches and is a member of the group on Globalization, Economic Integration and Development: European and Lusophone Perspectives.
