Tax Litigation in Brazil and Portugal: Final Diagnosis and Future Perspectives

The Centre for Research in European, Economic, Financial and Tax Law (CIDEEFF) is pleased to invite you to attend the conference entitled "TAX LITIGATION IN BRAZIL AND PORTUGAL: DIAGNOSIS, FINAL AND FUTURE PERSPECTIVES", which will be held on 30 June, between 9.30 a.m. and 6.00 p.m., at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.

This conference is the  closing session of the extension course "Resolution of Tax Disputes. Discussion of the Brazil/Portugal Models. A Comparative Study" which is an initiative of IDEFF in partnership with the State University of Rio de Janeiro with the aim of drawing up diagnoses on Portuguese and Brazilian tax litigation and promoting debates on the challenges and solutions for judicial litigation in both countries, including the implementation of different methods of dispute resolution. The objectives included an approach to cooperative action as a basis for resolving tax disputes, carrying out specific statistical monitoring, applying consensual solutions in tax disputes, encouraging the prevention and de-judicialisation of tax claims, synthesising and standardising national tax jurisprudence, and acting with a focus on positive results that benefit the development of national tax litigation.
